| (1) |
An applicant for designation as a DUE shall— |
| (a) |
have completed the required mentoring by a qualified DUE which shall consist of the following: |
| (i) |
at least two mock skills tests; |
| (ii) |
revalidation checks; |
| (iv) |
pre-flight briefing; |
| (v) |
in-flight evaluation; and |
| (vi) |
de-briefing, as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 71; |
| (b) |
have passed an initial DUE practical evaluation conducted by the Authority, as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 71; and |
| (c) |
pay the applicable fee prescribed in Part 187. |
| (2) |
An applicant for designation as DUE shall— |
| (a) |
hold a valid RPC related to the relevant category; |
| (b) |
hold a valid RPC instructor rating; and |
| (c) |
have logged on a UAS, at an UASOC or ATO, no less than 50 hours instruction flight time per category and 100 hours total time as a UAS pilot. |
