An applicant for a free balloon pilot licence shall have completed—
| (a) |
not less than 16 hours free flying under instruction in a balloon of maximum volume of 120 000 ft3 (3 400m3); |
| (b) |
a minimum of eight launches and ascents of which one must be solo9; |

| (c) |
a minimum of two tethers; |
| (d) |
a minimum of afternoon flight; |
| (e) |
a minimum of one fast flight (10 knots); |
| (d) |
10 balloon flights as part of the retrieve crew. |
