Subpart 1 : Hang-glider and Paraglider Certificate

106.01.5 Paraglider endorsements

 

(1) A paraglider may be issued with the following endorsements:
(a) basic endorsement;
(b) intermediate endorsement;
(c) sport endorsement;
(d) tandem endorsement;
(e) power endorsement;
(f) wheeled endorsement;
(g) hill endorsement;
(h) winch endorsement; and
(i) display endorsement.

 

(2) A paraglider pilot issued with a basic endorsement may only—
(a) fly on a site that is a basic rated site and other site that complies with the specific site requirements; and
(b) fly basic rated paraglider or paraglider defined by a manufacturer as suitable for the use of a basic or entry level pilot.

 

(3) A paraglider pilot issued with an intermediate endorsement may—
(a) fly on a site that is basic or intermediate rated or other site, provided a pilot complies with the specific site requirements; and
(b) fly a cross country flight or a paraglider defined by a manufacturer as suitable for the use by an intermediate level pilot.

 

(4) A paraglider pilot issued with a sport endorsement may fly any site on any paraglider.

 

(5) A paraglider pilot issued with a tandem endorsement may fly in a tandem configuration at any site on any paraglider suitable for tandem flight.

 

(6) A paraglider pilot issued with a power endorsement may launch and fly with any form of powered engine suitable for paragliding.

 

(7) A paraglider pilot issued with a wheeled endorsement may launch and fly with wheels attached to their equipment.

 

(8) A paraglider pilot issued with a hill endorsement may launch and fly from any hill or mountain.

 

(9) A paraglider pilot issued with a winch endorsement may launch on a winch.

 

(10) A paraglider pilot issued with a display endorsement may display flying manoeuvres to the public.
