71.02.6 Privileges of RPC

[Regulation 71.02.6  heading substituted by section 7(o) of the Thirty-Third Amendment of the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2026, Notice No. 7844, GG55226, dated 21 August 2026 and shall come into operation upon Publication in the Government Gazette, save for Part 92, which shall come into operation upon the Proclamation by the President of the Civil Aviation Amendment Act, 2021 (Act No. 22 of 2021]

 

(1) A holder of an RPC may not exercise a privilege of that RPC unless—
(a) he or she complies with the requirements provided in regulation 71.02.1; and
(b) maintains competency and complies with the revalidation requirements as stipulated in this Part.

 

(2) A holder of an RPC may act as a PIC of a UAS provided that such holder is—
(a) employed by a holder of a UASOC;
(b) operating a UAS in terms of regulation 101.01.2; or
(c) not remunerated for acting in his or her capacity as a pilot while operating a UAS in terms of this Part
