| (1) |
The Director may, through a written notice, direct a person in charge of a place where a light or a pattern of lights including laser beams as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 139 are exhibited, or a person who owns or in charge of such light or pattern of lights, to extinguish, screen effectively or prevent future use of such light or pattern of lights if— |
| (a) |
such a light or a pattern of lights is exhibited in a manner that is likely to be mistaken for an aeronautical light or a system of aeronautical lights; or |
| (b) |
such light or a pattern of lights is exhibited in the vicinity of a licensed aerodrome and is likely by its glare to endanger the safety of aircraft arriving at or departing from such aerodrome. |

| (2) |
No rockets, missiles or flares other than those used for aeronautical distress shall be fired within controlled or advisory airspace. |
| (3) |
Except with the permission of the Director and subject to such conditions as he or she may impose, the firing of rockets, missiles and flares shall not take place in any other airspace than that referred to in subregulation (2)— |
| (a) |
if it exceeds a height of more than 2000 ft above the surface; and |
| (b) |
if it is closer than 8 kilometres from the reference point of an aerodrome licensed in terms of Part 139. |
