| (1) |
The Director may validate a licence, certificate, or authorisation issued or recognised by an appropriate authority of another State, provided that the standard followed by such authority is equivalent to, or higher than the standard established in terms of this Part. |
| (2) |
An application for recognition and validation of a foreign licence, certificate, or authorisation issued by another State shall be submitted to the Director on the prescribed form and shall be accompanied by— |
| (a) |
a copy of a foreign licence, certificate, or authorisation concerned; |
| (b) |
a summary of applicant’s pilot logbook as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 106; and |
| (c) |
a copy of international pilot proficiency identification card issued by the Federation Aeronautiqué Internationale, as applicable. |
| (3) |
The Director may issue an applicant with a foreign pilot recognition certificate, provided that— |
| (a) |
the standards of a foreign licence, certificate, or authorisation are equivalent or higher than the standards of this Part; |
| (b) |
such applicant’s request for a foreign pilot recognition certificate was not previously denied by the Director; or |
| (c) |
such applicant’s foreign pilot recognition certificate was not, at any time, revoked by the Director. |
| (4) |
A holder of a foreign pilot recognition certificate may exercise the privileges of such certificate and shall comply with applicable provisions of this Part. |
