[Regulation 173.01.10 heading substituted by section 34(a) of the Thirty-Third Amendment of the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2026, Notice No. 7844, GG55226, dated 21 August 2026 and shall come into operation upon Publication in the Government Gazette, save for Part 92, which shall come into operation upon the Proclamation by the President of the Civil Aviation Amendment Act, 2021 (Act No. 22 of 2021]
| (1) | An application for an instrument flight procedure design approval or instrument flight procedure validation approval, or amendment thereof, shall be— |
| (a) | made to the Director in the appropriate prescribed form; and |
| (b) | accompanied by— |
| (i) | the appropriate fee as prescribed in Part 187; and |
| (ii) | operations manual referred to in regulations 173.02.1 and 173.03.1 as applicable. |
| (2) | In the case where an applicant was previously issued with an instrument flight procedure design or validation approval, and such approval was revoked, an application shall include information to prove that an applicant would be in a position to comply with all requirements pertaining to design or validation of instrument flight procedures of the rating or ratings concerned. |
