Subpart 1 : Hang-glider and Paraglider Certificate

106.01.4 Hang-glider endorsements

 

(1) A hang-glider endorsement issued in terms of this Part shall be as follows:
(a) novice endorsement;
(b) A endorsement;
(c) B endorsement;
(d) C endorsement;
(e) tandem endorsement;
(f) power endorsement;
(g) wheeled endorsement;
(h) hill endorsement;
(i) winch endorsement;
(j) aerotow endorsement; and
(k) display endorsement.

 

(2) A hang-glider pilot issued with a novice endorsement may only—
(a) fly on a basic rated site; and
(b) fly an entry level hang-glider or a hang-glider defined by a manufacturer as suitable for use by an entry level pilot.

 

(3) A hang-glider pilot issued with an A endorsement may only—
(a) fly on a basic rated site; and
(b) fly a basic rated hang-glider or a hang-glider defined by a manufacturer as suitable for use by an entry level pilot.

 

(4) A hang-glider pilot issued with a B endorsement may only—
(a) fly on a site that is basic or intermediate rated; and
(b) fly a hang-glider defined by the manufacturer as suitable for the use of an intermediate level pilot.

 

(5) A hang-glider pilot issued with a C endorsement may fly on any site.

 

(6) A hang-glider pilot issued with a tandem endorsement may fly in a tandem configuration at any site on any hang-glider suitable for tandem flight.

 

(7) A hang-glider pilot issued with a power endorsement may launch and fly with any form of powered engine suitable for hang-gliding.

 

(8) A hang-glider pilot issued with a wheeled endorsement may launch and fly with wheels attached to their equipment.

 

(9) A hang-glider pilot issued with a hill endorsement may launch and fly from any hill or mountain.

 

(10) A hang-glider pilot issued with a winch endorsement may launch on a winch.

 

(11) A hang-glider pilot issued with an aerotow endorsement may launch and fly by means of aerotowing.

 

(12) A hang-glider pilot issued with a display endorsement may display flying manoeuvres to the public.
