| (1) | An operator, and where appropriate, the PIC of a commercial air transport balloon, shall perform the necessary duties in an emergency or a situation requiring emergency evacuation. |
| (2) | The functions referred to in subregulation (1) shall be such as to ensure that any reasonably anticipated emergency can be adequately dealt with and shall take into consideration the possible incapacitation of the PIC. |

| (3) | A flight crew member shall not accept an assignment of emergency functions unless such flight crew member has been trained to perform emergency functions in accordance with the requirements prescribed in Part 69. |
