| (1) |
A holder of a valid RPC instructor rating may exercise the privileges of an RPC flight instructor, as endorsed in an RPC. |
| (2) |
An RPC instructor rating shall be valid for a period of 24 months from— |
| (a) |
the date of issuance or reissuance; |
| (b) |
the beginning of the month following the date of— |
| (i) |
expiry of a flight instructor rating if such rating is revalidated within 90 days prior to expiry; or |
| (ii) |
revalidation of such rating if revalidated prior to a period referred to in subparagraph (i). |
| (3) |
If an RPC instructor rating has lapsed by no more than 36 months from the date of expiry of such rating, an RPC instructor rating holder may apply to the Director for reissuance if such holder has passed a revalidation check with a DUE within 30 days prior to submission of such application. |
| (4) |
If an RPC instructor rating has lapsed by a period exceeding 36 months from the date of expiry of a rating, an RPC instructor rating holder may apply to the Director for reissuance provided that such RPC instructor rating holder— |
| (a) |
has undergone ground and flight training at an ATO to meet the standard required for revalidation check of an RPC instructor; and |
| (b) |
has passed a revalidation check with a DUE, within 30 days prior to submission of an application for revalidation of a rating. |
| (5) |
An application for reissuance in terms of subregulation (3) shall be submitted to the Director— |
| (a) |
within 30 days of completion of a revalidation check; and |
| (b) |
with the applicable fee as prescribed in Part 187. |
| (6) |
If an RPC Instructor Rating holder fails to maintain the minimum standard required to exercise the relevant privileges, a DUE shall— |
| (a) |
inform such holder of such failure with immediate effect and not to exercise the privileges of an RPC instructor rating until such time the requirements for revalidation or reissuance of a rating is met; and |
| (b) |
immediately report to the Director in writing. |
