| (1) | A South African registered aeroplane with an MCTOW exceeding 5700kg or a helicopter with a MCTOW exceeding 3175kg shall be maintained according to an approved aircraft maintenance programme as provided in Regulation 43.02.8. |
| (2) | The owner of an aircraft shall draw up or have drawn up a maintenance programme for such owner's aircraft in accordance with the provisions of Document SA-CATS 43. |
| (3) | An owner of an aircraft or a responsible AMO shall submit a proposed maintenance programme to the Director for approval. |
| (4) | The Director may approve a proposed aircraft maintenance programme if it meets the requirements as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 43 . |
| (5) | An owner of an aircraft may request the Director for a permanent or temporary amendment to an approved aircraft maintenance programme. |
| (6) | An owner of an aircraft shall ensure that the design and application of an aircraft maintenance programme takes into account human factors principles as prescribed in Document SA-CATS 43. |
