This Part applies to— |
| (a) |
design, ground validation, flight validation, maintenance, revision, and amendment of instrument flight procedures; and |
| (b) |
approval and operation of organisations conducting instrument flight procedure design, instrument flight procedure validation, maintenance, revision, and amendment. |
[Regulation 173.01.1(1) substituted by section 34(a) of the Thirty-Third Amendment of the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2026, Notice No. 7844, GG55226, dated 21 August 2026 and shall come into operation upon Publication in the Government Gazette, save for Part 92, which shall come into operation upon the Proclamation by the President of the Civil Aviation Amendment Act, 2021 (Act No. 22 of 2021]

This Part does not apply to— |
| (a) |
the design of flight procedures for use by aircraft in circumstances where one or more engines of the aircraft have become inoperative while on an IFR flight, unless such flight procedures are designed under a PBN including RNP-AR rating; and |
| (b) |
an organisation which carries out flight procedure design on procedures for use by aircraft in circumstances where one or more engines of the aircraft have become inoperative while on an IFR flight, unless such flight procedures are designed under a PBN including RNP-AR rating. |
