Part 173 : Flight Procedure Design

Subpart 1 : General

173.01.12 Period of validity of Instrument Flight Procedure Design or Validation approval

[Regulation 173.01.12 heading substituted by section 34(a) of the Thirty-Third Amendment of the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2026, Notice No. 7844, GG55226, dated 21 August 2026 and shall come into operation upon Publication in the Government Gazette, save for Part 92, which shall come into operation upon the Proclamation by the President of the Civil Aviation Amendment Act, 2021 (Act No. 22 of 2021]

 

(1) An instrument flight procedure design approval or instrument flight procedure validation approval is valid for 12 months, calculated from the date of issuance.

(2) The approval shall remain in force until it expires or is suspended by an authorised officer, inspector or authorised person, or cancelled by the Director.

 

(3) The holder of an approval which expires shall forthwith surrender the approval to the Director.

 

(4) The holder of an approval which is suspended, shall forthwith produce the approval upon suspension thereof, to the authorised officer, inspector or authorised person concerned for the appropriate endorsement.

 

(5) The holder of an approval which is cancelled, shall, within 30 days from the date on which the approval is cancelled, surrender such approval to the Director.
