| (1) | An applicant wishing to be approved as a screening organisation shall permit the Director to carry out an inspection to ascertain whether he or she is able to comply with the provisions of this Part. |
| (2) | A fee as prescribed in Part 187 shall be paid for such inspection. |
| (3) | If the Director is satisfied with an applicant’s operations manual and is satisfied that an applicant is able to comply with the provisions of this Part, the Director shall— |
| (a) | certify in writing on both copies of operations manual that these documents have been approved; |
| (b) | return one copy of approved operations manual to an applicant; and |
| (c) | issue to such applicant a certificate of approval as a screening organisation. |
[Regulation 110.03.3(3) substituted by section 17(g) of the Thirty-Third Amendment of the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2026, Notice No. 7844, GG55226, dated 21 August 2026 and shall come into operation upon Publication in the Government Gazette, save for Part 92, which shall come into operation upon the Proclamation by the President of the Civil Aviation Amendment Act, 2021 (Act No. 22 of 2021]
| (4) | The Director may reject the application if the applicant has failed to provide sufficient information or has provided incorrect information regarding its operations or personnel. |
| (5) | A screening organisation shall at all times operate in accordance with the approved operations manual or an approved amendment thereto. |
| (6) | A certificate of approval as screening organisation shall be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. |
