| (1) |
A holder of a pilot certificate with a paraglider category rating— |
| (a) |
may act as PIC of a paraglider within Class F and Class G airspaces; |
| (b) |
may operate a paraglider unassisted at any site in accordance with the prescribed limitations of such site; and |
| (c) |
shall be limited to the operation of a paraglider suitable for such holder’s rating and endorsement. |
| (2) |
A holder of a pilot certificate with a paraglider category rating shall at all times operate a paraglider in accordance with a manufacturer's instructions and recommendations including a specified mass range. |
| (3) |
A holder of a pilot certificate with a paraglider category rating and a sport endorsement may conduct training as a paraglider assistant flight instructor under the supervision of an A or B rated paraglider flight instructor. |
| (4) |
A holder of a paraglider tandem endorsement shall be permitted to act as a PIC of a tandem paraglider while carrying a passenger, provided that: |
| (a) |
the first three flights shall be carried out with a passenger who holds a valid paraglider certificate with a tandem endorsement; and |
| (b) |
after completion of the first three flights referred to in paragraph (a), a holder of a paraglider tandem endorsement shall obtain approval from a relevant safety panel of an approved organisation to complete the remaining flights which may be carried out with a passenger who holds a valid paraglider certificate. |
| (5) |
Notwithstanding the provisions of subregulations (1) and (2), the Director may impose additional experience requirements for specific paragliders. |
| (6) |
Once an endorsement is recorded in a pilot logbook, a holder of a pilot certificate may exercise the privileges of such endorsement. |
