43. Medical Fund

 

(1) The Council, having resolved that employers and employees in the Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Beauty and Skincare Industry may participate in a medical plan registered in terms of the Medical Schemes Act, 1967 (hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme"), hereby authorises, for the purpose of implementing the objects set forth in the rules of the Scheme, the collection of contributions in accordance with the procedure detailed hereunder;
(a) Every employer shall each week or month, as the case may be, deduct from the wage of each of his employees, who has voluntarily applied in writing to participate in the Scheme, the amount calculated in terms of the Rules of the Scheme and notified to him by the administrators of the Scheme. To the amount so deducted the employer shall add the amount that he has agreed to pay to the Scheme, if any, in respect of members of the Scheme in his employ.
