| (1) | A person commits an offence if that person— |
| (a) | fails to return to the issuing authority the disaster management volunteer identity card issued to him or her in terms of regulation 6(3)(b) or any suitable clothing or equipment issued to him or her in terms of regulation 12 or 13, when required to do so; or |
| (b) | wilfully obstructs, hinders or threatens a volunteer while performing a duty or service in terms of these regulations. |
| (2) | A person convicted of an offence under subsection (1) is liable to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both a fine and such imprisonment. |
