Where these regulations required that certain medicines and medical appliances to be carried on board shall also comply with specific standards laid down by relevant South African legislation, the authority may allow any other medicine or medical appliance to be carried if he is satisfied that such other medicine or medical appliance is at least. as effective as that required by these regulations.
