Despite anything to the contrary in these regulations, but subject to regulation 18(2)(c), every medical practitioner who was, immediately before the commencement of these regulations, an approved medical practitioner for the purposes of the Act is to continue to be an approved medical practitioner for those purposes for the period expiring on the earlier of the following two dates:
| (a) | the date (if any) appearing from the instrument of approval to be the date on which the approval ceases to be valid; or |
| (b) | the date on which the period of three years after the commencement of these regulations expires. |
