An applicant for a licence as a Compass Adjuster whom the Director-General has, prior to the commencement of these regulations, approved as competent to adjust the compasses of ships shall not be required to pass any part of the examination: Provided that he satisfies the Director-General that he has been actively engaged in compass adjusting since such approval.
