Subject to subregulation (2) and regulation 72, the following regulations are repealed: |
| (a) |
The Examination Regulations for Certificates of Competency for Deck Officers, 1994, published by Government Notice No. R. 738 of 20 April 1994, as amended by Government Notice No. R. 1002 of 27 May 1994; |
| (b) |
the Examination Regulations for Engineer-Officers, 1985, published by Government Notice No. R. 2655 of 29 November 1985, as amended by Government Notices Nos. R. 38 of 10 January 1989, R. 2438 of 19 October 1990 and R. 2715 of 2 October 1992; |
| (c) |
the Certificates of Qualification Regulations, 1985, published by Government Notice No. R. 2654 of 29 November 1985, as amended by Government Notices Nos. R. 39 of 10 January 1989, R. 2438 of 19 October 1990, R. 2315 of 1 December 1993 and R. 1469 of 29 September 1995; and |
| (d) |
the Eyesight and Medical Examination Regulations, 1977, published by Government Notice No. 1 of 7 January 1977, as amended by Government Notices Nos. R. 2534 of 12 December 1980, R. 1588 of 15 July 1983, R. 2438 of 19 October 1990 and R. 282 of 15 February 1991. |

The regulations referred to in subregulation (1)(a), (b) and (c) shall continue to have effect for the purposes of— |
| (a) |
the Examination Regulations for Certificates of Competency for Fishermen, 1993, published by Government Notice No. R. 2317 of 1 December 1993, as amended by Government Notice No. R. 1468 of 29 September 1995; and |
| (b) |
the Examination Regulations for Certificates of Competency for Marine Motormen, 1993, published by Government Notice No. R. 2314 of 1 December 1993. |

| (3) |
Subject to regulation 72, the Ship's Officers' Medical Training Regulations, 1992, published by Government Notice No. R. 2666 of 25 September 1992, as amended by Government Notice No. R. 533 of 25 March 1994, shall cease to have effect in their application, by virtue of regulation 2(a) and (b) thereof, to certificated deck and engineer officers. |
