Estate Brandy Scheme

16. Bottling requirements

 

(1)

(a) A person who intends to bottle estate brandy shall notify the Authority at least one working day beforehand of the date on which such bottling will commence.
(b) Such notice shall also specify—
(i) the reference number of the distillate record kept in respect of the estate brandy concerned;
(ii) the identification number of the tank or other bulk container in which the estate brandy concerned is kept;
(iii) the total volume of estate brandy to be bottled;
(iv) the capacity of the containers in which the estate brandy concerned is to be bottled; and
(v) the address of the premises at which the estate brandy concerned is to be bottled.
(2) A person who has notified the Authority thus shall—
(a) during the course of each working day record the applicable particulars in connection with the bottling of the estate brandy concerned on the distillate record kept-in respect thereof; and
(b) immediately after bottling identify the containers in which the estate brandy concerned is bottled–
(i) by affixing thereto seals that were issued in terms of section 18 of this Scheme in respect of that estate brandy;
(ii) by affixing thereto stickers on which the reference number of the distillate record concerned and the date of bottling of that estate brandy are indicated; or
(iii) in another manner approved by the Authority after consideration of a written application by the person concerned.
