| (1) | The medicines and medical appliances to be carried on board in terms of these regulations shall comply with the following requirements: |
| (a) | They shall in general conform to the standards and requirements laid down by the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, 1965 (Act No. 101 of 1965), where those standards and are applicable, and shall also comply with any special requirements set out in the annexes to these regulations; |
| (b) | containers or wrappings or medicines and medical appliances shall be plainly and durably labelled in accordance with the requirements of the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, 1965 (Act No. 101 of 1965); |
| (c) | labels of medicines and medical appliances shall be rendered resistant to moisture either by the use of an effective label varnish that shall cover the label and overlap the edges or by some method the effect of which is not fend inferior to varnishing; and |
| (d) | containers for tablets and capsules shall be capable of reclosure to prevent the access of moisture. |
| (2) | The disinfectants carried on board in terms of these regulations shall comply with the provisions of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act, 1972 (Act No. 54 of 1972), and the regulations made thereunder. |
| (3) | The antiseptics carried on board in terms of these regulations shall comply with the provisions of the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, 1965 (Act No. 101 of 1965), and the regulations made thereunder. |
| (4) | The insecticides carried on board in terms of these regulations shall comply with the provisions of the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act, 1947 (Act No. 36 of 1947), and the regulations made thereunder. |
