| (1) | A seafarer, or a person duly authorized by him, may as soon as wages due to him by reason of his engagement in a South African ship become payable sue for the same before any magistrate's court within whose area of jurisdiction the place at which his service has been terminated is situated, or which by reason of any other fact has jurisdiction in the matter; and no appeal shall lie from any judgment given or order made by the court in the matter. |

| (2) | Nothing in subsection (1) contained shall increase the jurisdiction of any magistrate's court as regards the amount which may be claimed in any proceeding tried by the court. |
