Merchant Shipping Act, 1951 (Act No. 57 of 1951)Chapter III : Certificates of Competency, Service and Qualification77. Examinations for certificates of competency and qualification |
| (1) | Examinations of applicants for certificates of competency and qualification under this Act shall be held at such places in the Republic and at such times as the Authority may determine and under such conditions as may be prescribed by regulation. |
| (2) | No person shall be admitted to examination for a certificate of competency or qualification unless he possesses the qualifications, and satisfies such other conditions, if any, prescribed by regulation. |

| (4) | The Authority may appoint examiners for the conduct of such examinations, and remove any examiner so appointed. |
