157. Measuring instruments on board

 

The master of a South African ship shall keep on board proper measuring instruments for determining the quantities of the several provisions and articles served out, and in the event of any dispute as to the quantities served out, shall cause the quantities to be measured in the presence of a witness by using such measuring instruments.
