137. Wages not recoverable abroad except in certain cases

 

If a seafarer is engaged in a South African ship for a voyage or period of service which is to terminate in the Republic he shall not be entitled to sue in any court outside the Republic for wages, unless he has been discharged, or proves such ill-usage on the part of or by the authority of the master as to warrant reasonable apprehension of danger to his life or health if he were to remain on board.
