Part I : Dairy Products

21. Standards for dairy liquid blend and cultured dairy liquid blend

 

(1) Dairy liquid blend and cultured dairy liquid blend shall—

(a) be manufactured by blending more than one primary dairy product; and

(b) contain no animal, plant or marine fat.

 

(2) Cultured dairy liquid blend shall—
(a) be manufactured from heat treated dairy liquid blend which has been inoculated with a culture to produce a specific microbiological flora under controlled conditions; and
(b) contain at least 107 colony forming units per gram (CFU/g) of viable lactic acid producing micro-organisms per gram of a product.

 

(3) The word "blend" in the alternate class designation may be substituted by the word "mixture" or "mix".
