| (1) |
The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, establish skills development institutes in accordance with the prescribed requirements and may contribute the resources that are necessary for the effective performance of their functions. |
| (2) |
A skills development institute may— |
| (a) |
provide advisory services on skills development, mentoring and the recognition of prior learning; |
| (b) |
provide learning programmes; and |
| (c) |
perform any other prescribed function necessary to promote skills development. |
| (3) |
The Minister may make regulations concerning— |
| (a) |
the establishment, functions, operation, legal status, governance and funding of skills development institutes; |
| (b) |
any other matter that it is necessary or expedient to prescribe in order to enable skills development institutes to perform their functions. |
| (4) |
The Minister may make different regulations under subsection (2) with respect to different skills development institutes. |
