| (1) | The person to whom a certificate of registration has been issued in terms of section 12(2) must apply for the renewal of the registration before or on the date of expiry of the certificate in the prescribed manner. |
| (2) | If the application for renewal has been lodged before or on the date of expiry in terms of subsection (1), the certificate remains valid until the application for renewal is decided. |
