Definitions

 

Behavioural competency:

Typical behaviour observed when effective performers apply motives, traits or skills to job-relevant tasks.

 

Competency:

A quality or characteristic of a person related to effective or superior performance. Competency consists of aspects such as attitudes, motives, traits and skills.

 

Domain:

Represents an organised cluster of competencies within a framework and the domains, with associated competencies.

 

Fast Track Initiation Counselling:

Fast-tracking patients onto ART without delay and providing minimal ART preparation counselling.

 

HIV Specialist:

A practising physician with a background in clinical, internal or family medicine who provides comprehensive primary health care services to patients with HIV on a daily basis.
