24. Appeal against refusal to register or against removal of name from register

 

(1) Any person aggrieved by the council's decision—
(a) to refuse to register him or to enter in the appropriate register any degree, diploma, certificate or additional qualification which he desires, and maintains to be entitled, to have so entered in terms of the provisions of this Act; or
(b) to remove from the register his name or any degree, diploma, certificate or additional qualification which he maintains to be entitled to have entered in the register in terms of the provisions of this Act,

may, after notice to the council and within a period of two months after the date of such decision, appeal against such decision to the provincial or local division of the Supreme Court of South Africa having jurisdiction in the area in which the appellant normally resides.

 

(2) The court may dismiss such appeal or, if it is of the opinion that the council has not acted in accordance with the provisions of this Act, may make an order reversing or modifying the council's decision or it may remit the matter to the council for further consideration or make such other order, including an order as to costs, as it may deem appropriate.
