3. Number plates

 

(1)        Number plates for—

 

(a) general vehicles, must display blue letters and figures, followed by the provincial Coat of Arms, followed by the letters 'ZN', on a white retro-reflective surface background;
(b) public transport vehicles, must display black letters and figures, followed by the provincial Coat of Arms, followed by the letters 'ZN', on a white retro-reflective surface background;
(c) public transport vehicles, which are personalised, must display black letters and figures, followed by the provincial Coat of Arms, followed by the letters 'ZN', on a white retro-reflective background;
(d) general vehicles, which are personalised, must display blue letters and figures, followed by the provincial Coat of Arms, followed by the letters 'ZN', on a white retro­ reflective surface background;
(e) government vehicles, must display red letters and figures, followed by the provincial Coat of Arms, followed by the letters 'ZN', on a white retro-reflective surface background;
(f) motor trade vehicles, must display blue letters and figures, followed by the provincial Coat of Arms, followed by the letters 'ZN', on a white retro-reflective surface background, and must have a space that incorporates a holder of the licence disc; and
(g) iSilo, must display blue letters and figures, the letters 'ZK', followed by the royal Coat of Arms, on a white retro-reflective surface background,

with the Provincial ID in a central position on the top of the number plate, and the reflective sheeting of the number plate must incorporate a positive identification image that forms an integral part of the number plate, with the letters 'ZN',  as depicted in Annexure 1.

 

(2) In the case of personalised licence number plates for general vehicles and public transport vehicles, the number plates must include silver holograms with the letters 'ZN', 16 millimetres by 9,5 millimetres in dimension, dispersed in two rows, adjacent to the top and bottom borders, consisting of eight holograms per row, and the holograms must not overlap the Provincial ID.
