| (1) |
| (a) | The Minister, by notice in the Gazette, may phase in the application of the provisions of this Act which place a financial or administrative burden on organs of state by determining the period within which, and the extent to which, an organ of state must comply with a particular provision of this Act. |
| (b) | The period referred to in paragraph (a) may not exceed two years after the commencement of this Act. |
| (2) | A notice in terms of subsection (1), may— |
| (a) | differentiate between different organs of state |
| (b) | differentiate between provincial organs of state in the different provinces |
| (c) | apply to a specific municipal organ of state subject to the Local Government Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000); and |
| (d) | determine different periods in respect of different organs of state identified in terms of paragraphs (a) to (e). |
