Any notice, if given by post, shall be deemed to have been served at the time when the letter or wrapper containing the same is posted, and any notice given by advertisement shall be deemed to have been given on the day upon which the advertisement was published in the Gazette, and in proving the giving of the notice sent by post it shall be sufficient to prove that the letter or wrapper containing the notice was properly addressed and put into the Post Office.
