| (1) | The ranking structure and insignia of municipal police services is subject to the amendment of the ranking structure and insignia of the South African Police Service. |
| (2) | Any amendment to the ranking structure or insignia of the municipal police services must ensure that the ranks and insignia are so clearly distinguishable from that of the South African Police Service that it will prevent confusion. |
