A radiation protection officer shall, in addition to any other duties that the holder of the authority may assign to him by virtue of his appointment—
| a) |
supervise work with a Group IV hazardous substance in respect of which the holder of the authority concerned has placed him in control; |
| b) |
ensure that the provisions of these regulations and any additional conditions that the Director-General may impose in the authority are complied with; |
| c) |
inform the holder immediately of any radiation incident or overexposure or any occurrence or suspected occurrence which may lead to a radiation incident; and |
| d) |
on resignation from his post take stock, on a form that is obtainable from the Director-General, of any sealed source pertaining to the authority of the holder concerned and, after signing and dating such form, hand such form over to the holder; and |
| e) |
when taking up a post of radiation protection officer, verify the stock specified on such form and sign and date such form and hand it over to the holder concerned for transmission to the Director-General. |
