To give effect to section 217(3) of the Constitution by providing a framework for the implementation of the procurement policy contemplated in section 217(2) of the Constitution; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

The Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2001 as gazetted inGG 22549 dated 10 August 2001 have been added to the Act, replacing the Draft Regulations.


The Draft Regulations have been added to the Act as published in Government Gazette 21256, Notice R.562 and dated 5 June 2000.

The Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, 2000, has been added to the site on 14 February 2000, as published in Gazette 20854. This Act replaces the 1999 Bill.
