Any person committed to a remand detention facility or a correctional center, as the case may be, in terms of section 30 of the Magistrates Courts Act, 1944 (Act No. 32 of 1944), section 19 of the Supreme Court Act, 1959 (Act No. 59 of 1959 or section 185 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1997 (Act No. 51 of 1977) must be afforded the same rights and privileges and is subject to the same obligations and limitations as a remand detainee.
