| (1) |
The Minister may at any time discharge a director of the board from office— |
| (a) |
if the director has repeatedly failed to perform his or her functions efficiently; (b) if, because of any physical or mental illness or disability, the director has become incapable of performing his or her functions or performing them efficiently; or |
| (2) |
A director vacates office when— |
| (b) |
he or she is discharged in terms of subsection (1); |
| (c) |
he or she is absent from three consecutive meetings of the board without the chairperson’s permission, unless the board has condoned the absence on good reasons advanced; or |
| (d) |
the person’s resignation as director takes effect. |
