| 1) | A promotion in terms of these Regulations takes effect on the first day of the month following the month during which the Chief of the Defence Force, or an officer designated by him or her for that purpose, has approved the promotion. |
| 2) | No member has any right to promotion to a vacant post until the Chief of the Defence Force has approved his or her promotion in writing. |
