Multi-Party Democracy Fund

The Electoral Commission hereby gives notice in terms of Regulation 2(1) of the Regulations on Political Party Funding, 2017 that a total amount available for allocation for the period 1 October 2021 until 31 December 2021, to represented political parties, from the Multi-Party Democracy Fund established in terms of the Political Party Funding Act 6 of 2018 is R1 669.36 (One Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty-Nine Rand and Thirty-Six Cents).

This amount will, however, not be allocated at this instance to represented political parties as, in terms of Section 26(2) of the Act, read with Regulation 5(3) of the Regulations on Political Party Funding, 2017, the Multi-Party Democracy Fund will only come into effect on “…the day when the money in the Multi-Party Democracy Fund reaches a total of one million rand”.
