National House of Traditional Leaders Act, 2009 (Act No. 22 of 2009)

25. Repeal of laws and transitional provisions

 

1) The laws listed in Schedule A are hereby repealed to the extent indicated in the Schedule.

 

2) The traditional leaders who, on the date of commencement of this Act, were members of the National House of Traditional Leaders in terms of the National House of Traditional Leaders Act, 1997 (Act No. 10 of 1997), remain members of the House and continue as such as if that Act had not been repealed, until the expiry of the current term whereupon the House must be reconstituted in terms of this Act.

 

3) Despite subsection (2), the current composition of the House must be expanded to accommodate the additional members contemplated in section 3(2).

 

4) Any employee in the public service who immediately prior to the commencement of this Act was seconded to perform services for the House continues to perform such services without any interruption, subject to the laws applicable to him or her.
