| (a) |
lodge the application at the office of the Regional Manager in whose region the land is situated; |
| (b) |
lodge the application in the prescribed manner, |
| (c) |
lodge the application together with the prescribed non-refundable application fee; |
| (d) |
in the application state the reasons and period for which the retention permit is requested, and |
| (e) |
submit a report reflecting the extent of compliance with the section 32(1). |

| (2) |
The Regional Manager must accept an application for a retention permit, if— |
| (a) |
the requirements contemplated in subsection (1) are met; and |
| (b) |
the applicant is the holder of the prospecting right in question. |
