In this Chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates—

"active service"

"disaster"

means a disaster referred to in section 26;

"Fund"

means a fund referred to in section 16;

"full-time member"

means a member of a board appointed on a full-time basis in terms of section 17(3).

"psychosocial problems"

means problems in the interaction between a person's psyche and social environment caused by the trauma of violence;

"social relief of distress"

means the alleviation of the need of persons by means of the temporary rendering of material assistance to them;
