In these Regulations any expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Act shall bear that meaning, unless the context otherwise indicates—
'sheriff'
means a police officer, an investigator designated as such by the head of an Investigating Directorate in terms of 28(2)(a) read with section 7(4)(a) of the Act, or any other person authorised or designated to serve process; and
'the Act'
means the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 1998 (Act No. 32 of 1998).
