Brought to you by SA Legal Academy: The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) has gazetted an explanatory summary of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Amendment Bill ahead of its formal tabling in Parliament.

Following approval by Cabinet at its meeting on 29 July 2026, the Bill seeks to amend the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, No. 117 of 1998.
