CIPC Mandates Exclusive Use of Case Management System
Brought to you by SA Accounting Academy: The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has mandated the exclusive use of its online Case Management System (CMS) for all statutory submissions, complaints, and legal services, completely decommissioning previous email-based channels.
In terms of Notice 14 of 2026 and Customer Notice 30 of 2026 issued by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), stakeholders are notified of the mandatory transition to the Case Management System (CMS). Following the initial implementation of the CMS on 27 March 2026, the CIPC has permanently decommissioned and ceased monitoring all previously designated email addresses for submissions, effective from 31 May 2026.
This operational shift means that physical or email-based filings are no longer accepted for key regulatory processes. The CMS is now the sole gateway for interacting with the Commission on formal matters. Stakeholders must submit the following actions exclusively through the online portal:
- All formal complaints and investigations;
- Statutory submissions and compliance filings;
- Service of legal documents and court proceedings; and
- All related official correspondence.
The CMS is a secure online platform designed to streamline case tracking and document management. Users can access the platform directly at the CIPC Case Management System Portal or via the main CIPC website by navigating to the CMS portal and selecting the “Proceed” option.

What this means for you, your business, or your clients
- For yourself: You must register an active user profile on the CIPC CMS portal at case.cipc.co.za to initiate or track any statutory applications or legal services.
- For your business: Your firm must update its internal filing protocols, ensuring that staff cease sending documents to decommissioned CIPC email addresses and instead route all complaints and legal services through the CMS.
- For your clients: You must advise clients that any pending disputes, statutory filings, or legal submissions to the CIPC must be processed via the CMS, and manage expectations regarding potential delays if transition issues arise.
