Land Survey Act, 1997 (Act No. 8 of 1997)49. Amendment of Act 40 of 1984, repeal of laws, and transitional provisions |
| (1) | The Professional and Technical Surveyors’Act, 1984 (Act No. 40 of 1984), is hereby amended to the extent indicated in Schedule III. |
| (2) | Any law in force in those parts of the Republic which formerly constituted the national territories of the entities known as Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Venda, Ciskei, Gazankulu, KaNgwane, KwaNdebele, KwaZulu, Lebowa and QwaQwa, is hereby repealed to the extent that such law is inconsistent with the Professional and Technical Surveyors’ Act, 1984, or deals with any matter dealt with by that Act. |
| (3) | Subject to this section and section 50(1), the Professional and Technical Surveyors’ Act, 1984, shall apply throughout the Republic. |
| (4) | Subsections (1), (2) and (3) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 6 July 1995. |
