| (1) | Notwithstanding the repeal of the Commission on the Remuneration of Representatives Act, 1994 (Act No. 37 of 1994), by this Act, any person who immediately before the date of commencement of this Act was a member of the Commission on the Remuneration of Representatives shall be deemed as from that date to be appointed under this Act as a member of the Commission for a term of office which expires on 5 April 1998. |
| (2) | Any casual vacancy in the Commission on the Remuneration of Representatives immediately before the date of commencement of this Act shall be filled by the appointment of a member in accordance with the provisions of this Act for the unexpired portion of the term of office referred to in subsection (1). |
